BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Neal Musser took a no-hitter into the sixth inning as the Binghamton Mets shut out the Portland Sea Dogs 5-0 Sunday in the Eastern League.
Musser (1-3) earned his first career Double A victory, allowing one hit and one walk, and striking out nine over seven innings.
Binghamton (24-28) scored four runs in the third, including four straight hits by Jeff Duncan, Chris Basak, Josh Pressley and Tony Calabrese.
Carlos Leon broke up the no-hitter in the sixth for the Sea Dogs (29-22), who remain in first place in the Eastern League’s Northern Division.
Tim Kester (2-4) took the loss for Portland.
