Open house at MERI for World Ocean Day

BLUE HILL – The Maine Environmental Research Institute will hold a World Ocean Day open house 2-5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the MERI Center for Maine Studies, 55 Main St.

The event will feature ocean-themed activities and tours of the center.

World Ocean Day began in 1992 at the U.N. Earth Summit to encourage people around the world to come together to celebrate the ocean and its importance in their lives.

MERI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1990 to protect the health of the marine environment through research and education.
