ELLSWORTH – Principal William Connors has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2003 at Ellsworth High School.

Katherine Hessler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hessler of Ellsworth, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2003. She will attend Bowdoin College.

She is a National Merit Commended Scholar, a recipient of the Rensselaer Medal Award, Bausch & Lomb Science Award and the Maine Scholar’s Achievement award. She is a member of the National Honor society, has been a member of the AIDS, swim, tennis, track, and cross country teams. She was selected to attend the Mount Desert Island Biological Lab as an intern this past summer.

Sarah Langley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Langley of Ellsworth, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2003. She will attend Colby College.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, show choir, stage band, and was accepted to the Considering Engineering Program at the University of Maine. She is very active in the community in her church youth group.
