ALTOONA, Pa. – Carlos Leon went 3-for-3 and doubled home the winning run in the seventh and last inning as the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Altoona Curve 2-1 Wednesday in the Eastern League.

The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader of two seven-inning games, but the second contest was rained out. It will be made up when Altoona travels to Portland later this month, though no date has been set.

The Sea Dogs (31-22) got a leadoff single from Tonayne Brown and sacrifice bunt by Jeremy Owens to start the seventh. Leon followed with the double off the right field wall against Altoona reliever Neal McDade to score the decisive run.

Portland starter Junior Herndon allowed a run on six hits in going the distance for the win.

The Curve (27-29), who dropped their fifth straight game, scored first on Shaun Skrehot’s RBI double in the second.
