UNION – A two-vehicle accident Sunday caused minor injuries to at least two people.

Driver Gregory B. Hatt, 23, of Waterville and Deborah Goff, 24, town not provided, who was a passenger in his vehicle, complained of shoulder injury, according to the report filed by Knox County sheriff’s Sgt. Kirk Guerrette.

Both drivers and two passengers were taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, where all but Helen Vinal were treated and released. Vinal, 87, of Hope, was in stable condition late Monday, according to a nursing supervisor.

At the time of the crash, Hatt was driving a 1997 Toyota pickup truck west on Route 17 when driver Vinal hit the truck at the intersection of Buzzell Hill Road.

According to the report, Vinal was driving a 1996 Mercury sedan on Buzzell Hill Road and stopped only momentarily at a stop sign before continuing onto Route 17. Vinal’s car struck the truck broadside when it entered Route 17.

Goff and Emma Hall, 3, no town provided, were passengers in Hatt’s vehicle. The crash caused $4,500 damage to Hatt’s pickup truck and $5,000 damage to Vinal’s car.
