Veazie police arrested two women on drug charges Thursday night.
At about 11 p.m., officers Ryan Welch and Lee Miller pulled over an erratically driven vehicle on State Street.
Welch said he smelled marijuana as he interviewed the driver, Myndie Davis, 20, who said she was not used to her new car’s manual transmission.
Welch said the licenses of Davis and her passenger, Randi Groshek, 19, were suspended. He arrested Davis for operating after suspension.
Welch said Groshek’s purse contained prescription drugs and her license, but no prescription. Welch arrested Groshek for possession of drugs and a suspended driver’s license. He charged Davis with illegal transportation of drugs by a minor.
Penobscot County Jail officials later found marijuana in Davis’ purse. Welch summoned her for sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
A Bangor woman allegedly stole a wallet from a day care center Thursday afternoon.
Bangor police Officer James Dearing said that at about 5 p.m. the owners of the Kid’s Creative Corner day care on High Street told him a strange woman left their facility with a five dollar bill in her hand and the owner’s wallet in her pocket. The woman left in a white van with the license plate “Helene H” and allegedly wouldn’t give the wallet back when the owner chased her.
Found at her apartment, Helene Harrison, 27, asked officer Steve Jordan to search her van and apartment. She was arrested for theft and burglary.
