Former University of Maine All-American defenseman David Cullen assisted on Rickard Wallin’s game-winning goal in the Houston Aeros’ American Hockey League Calder Cup-clinching 3-0 victory over Hamilton on Thursday night. Cullen finished the Calder Cup playoffs with three goals and four assists in 23 games and was tied for eighth among AHL defensemen in playoff scoring.

He had two goals and 27 assists in 72 regular season games for the Aeros.

Cullen, who helped lead Maine to the NCAA title in 1999, is married to Orrington’s Alyssa Lisnik and the couple have a 7-month-old son, Tyler David. Lisnik is the daughter of Frank and Charron Lisnik.
