SAD 63 annual budget meeting today

HOLDEN – The annual budget meeting for SAD 63 (Holden, Eddington, Clifton) will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Holbrook School on Route 46.

Residents will vote on a budget for the 2004 fiscal year that totals $7,765,951 an increase of $170,029 over last year.

Though SAD 63 voters Tuesday approved changing the way the budget is approved for the school district, the process will remain the same for Saturday’s meeting as in the past. Changing to a two-vote-in-three-days process and to cost center budgeting will not take place until June 2004.

SAD 63 had 964 students for the 2002-2003 academic year. Of this number, 602 were elementary school pupils and 360 were high school students who attend various high schools on a tuition basis.
