Baseball, softball title games today

State championships in softball and Classes A and C in baseball will be awarded today after rain washed out most of Saturday’s championship schedule.

The baseball games will be played at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. The Class C final between George Stevens of Blue Hill (17-2) and Jay (14-5) is set for 3 p.m. In Class A, Mount Ararat of Topsham (16-4) will take on Deering of Portland (17-2) at 7 p.m.

The Classes A and C softball games will be held at Coffin Field in Brewer, while the Classes B and D games will be contested at Gorham High School.

The Class A softball matchup between Leavitt of Turner (19-0) and Noble of Berwick (16-3) will start at 3 p.m. Central of Corinth (18-1) takes on Sacopee of Hiram (18-1) at 7 p.m.

Class B Bucksport (18-1) will face Gray-New Gloucester (14-5) at 3, while Class D Lee (14-5) will meet Buckfield (14-2) at 7.

In the only games played Saturday, Class B Oak Hill of Sabattus beat Bucksport 7-3 and Class D North Yarmouth cruised to an 18-1 win over Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.
