Several Maine high school athletes competed in the Adidas Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in Raleigh, N.C., this weekend.
Jasmine Brooks, who graduated from Dirigo High School in Dixfield earlier this month, walked a time of 7 minutes, 45.34 seconds to capture the championship in the girls one-mile racewalk. Renee Fortin of North Yarmouth Academy finished fifth in 8:28.34, followed by Maddy O’Brien from Winthrop High School in sixth in 8:49.43.
In the boys race, Mark Denett, a graduating senior from Winthrop, took third with a time of 8:15.28.
