Roy wins rainy Mini Stocks

At Wiscasset, rain forced the postponement of all Friday night feature races except the Mini Stock feature, which was won by Brent Roy of Vassalboro.

Roy picked his way from the back of the field and took the lead for good on a midrace restart for his fourth victory of the season.

Pole-sitter Mike Wilson of Augusta took second place and West Gardiner’s Alton Sinclair was third. Eric Mason of Sidney was fourth and Palermo’s Dick Thompson finished fifth.

The remaining feature races will be held Friday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m., followed by the regularly scheduled weekly program.

Rain again forces rescheduling

Races were postponed at Hermon’s Speedway 95 and Unity Raceway and the Pro All-Stars Series event at Scotia Speedworld in Halifax, the Forbes Chev-Olds 200, was also rained out.

The PASS race has been rescheduled for July 4 while Speedway 95 and Unity Raceway have pushed their races back to next weekend.

The Speedway 95 race card has been moved to Friday because the PASS tour will race there on Saturday. Each program will start at 7.

The Saturday program will also have point races in the weekly Limited Sportsman, Super Street and Sport-Four divisions.

Unity Raceway will have the first Late Model Pro-Fours Triple Crown series race headlining its Saturday night card beginning at 6 with the first Mini-Stocks Triple Crown series event highlighting Sunday’s racing which will start at 4.
