Hampden police arrested a man at a neighbor’s trailer Monday night after he allegedly assaulted his wife.
The woman told Officer Ruth Duquette that her husband, Michael Pelkey, 43, had pulled her hair and arm and pushed her at about 8 p.m. at their home in Hampden Trailer Park.
Pelkey’s wife informed Duquette, Sgt. Scott Webber and Officer Shawn Devine, that her husband might be at a neighbor’s trailer, where they arrested Pelkey for assault.
Pelkey also was summoned for possession of drug paraphernalia and a usable amount of marijuana.
A Bangor woman asked to be taken home before receiving a summons for operating while under the influence Monday night.Bangor police Sgt. Reagan said he stopped Tracy Hamilton, 39, near the courthouse on Hammond Street at 11:29 p.m. because she was carrying road signs in her SUV matching the description of signs reported stolen. Hamilton said they were her ex-husband’s.
Officer Brandon Vafiades said Hamilton told him she had had three glasses of wine.
Hamilton allegedly told Vafiades she was about a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being sober and 10 being very drunk. She then said she was wrong for driving, and asked to be taken home. Vafiades said Hamilton was summoned for OUI and then released.
A Bangor police officer on a motorcycle arrested a man driving an SUV and charged him with operating while under the influence Monday night.
Officer Dan Herrick said he pulled over an SUV from his police motorcycle after clocking the vehicle at 51 mph on Union Street.
Herrick said the driver, James Calleros, 32, of Bangor, appeared confused and disoriented and admitted that he had no license. He said he’d had two drinks.
Calleros also performed poorly on field sobriety tests, Herrick said, but was extremely cooperative and apologetic.
Calleros was arrested and charged with OUI and operating after suspension, then was released on his own recognizance.
