WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Danny Solano and Guillermo Quiroz both hit sacrifice flies in the eighth inning to lead the New Haven Ravens to a 2-1 win over the Portland Sea Dogs Thursday in the Eastern League.

New Haven (36-34) has won six straight and now trails Portland (38-28), which has lost three in a row, by four games in the Northern Division.

Juan Perez (1-2), who came in the seventh inning for starter Tim Kester, took the loss for the Sea Dogs.

Dave Gassner (5-2) pitched eight strong innings, scattering seven hits, striking out three and walking one to earn the win for the Ravens. Juan Pena picked up his fourth save.
