BUCKSPORT – The sixth annual Fort Knox Bay Festival will be held Friday, July 25, though Sunday, July 27, in downtown Bucksport along the waterfront and at Fort Knox.

Activities will include a 5K Fun Run, the 20th Maine encampment, canoe and kayak races, concerts, crafts and other activities. Bucksport also will host the state Little League championship and the state Archery 3-D championships that weekend.

Two Navy ships, the USS DeWart and the USS Hawes, will be docked in Bucksport Harbor and offer tours throughout the weekend.

The theme of this year’s festival is “Bridging Our Past to Our Future,” in honor of the historical significance of the Waldo-Hancock bridge.

The Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for parade participants, crafters, artisans and food booths benefiting nonprofit organizations.

Companies or individuals interested in becoming official festival sponsors or those seeking more information should contact the Chamber office at 469-2078.
