WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Justin Sherrod’s three-run homer in the first inning helped lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 10-3 win over the New Haven Ravens Sunday in the Eastern League.

The game was the completion of a Saturday night game that was suspended due to weather. Portland led 8-1 after three innings when rain forced the game to be completed Sunday.

Sunday’s regularly scheduled game between the two teams, slated to begin 30 minutes following the completion of the suspended game, was postponed due to rain.

Sherrod finished with four RBIs while Carlos Leon had three hits and two RBIs for the Sea Dogs (39-29). Kevin Youkilis added two hits and two RBIs and Jim Goelz three hits and two runs scored for Portland.

James Johnson (2-2) earned the win with three scoreless innings of relief. Diego Markwell (4-4) took the loss for the Ravens (37-35). He allowed seven runs on six hits in just one inning of work.

John-Ford Griffin and Guillermo Quiroz had RBI singles for New Haven.
