Government contracts topic of workshop

ORONO – The Maine International Trade Center will present a half-day program about the tools needed to successfully compete for government contracts in the United States and Canada. Government purchasing is an underused but potentially lucrative way of expanding sales both domestically and internationally.

“Accessing Government Tenders,” the final program of the 2002-2003 Eaton Peabody Global Commerce Series, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Target Technology Center in Orono.

An overview will be presented on the U.S. government procurement market, including best sectors, best practices and subcontracting tips for successfully marketing to federal and state governments. There also will be a presentation on the Canadian government procurement system and tips offered for successfully marketing to Canadian federal and provincial governments.
