The 2.7-cent-per-gallon boost in diesel fuel taxes brings the state tax to 25.7 cents per gallon and 50.1 cents when federal taxes are added.

The state-federal totals compare with 36.4 cents per gallon for gasoline and 42.4 cents for diesel in neighboring New Hampshire.
