Little League all-star baseball action opened up over the weekend with District 3 games in the ages 9-10 tourney held at Bangor West’s 13th Street field.

Bangor East 17, Orrington 4

Adam King hit a double and two singles while scoring three runs to lead Bangor East to the win over Orrington on Sunday.

Luke Hetterman had two singles and scored two runs for Bangor East. Tyler Desjardins hit a pair of singles and Zach Rowe doubled.

Nick Ramsey had a RBI single for Orrington and Keith Bailey hit a single and scored a run.

Old Town 13, Hampden 2

Old Town broke the game open with seven runs in the second inning and went on to a 13-2 victory over Hampden Sunday.

The game was halted after four innings by the 10-run rule.

Corey Estes pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts for the winners. Teammate Daniel Gastia doubled.

Katahdin 5, Orono-Veazie 1

Winning pitcher Brandon Robinson struck out 16 batters Sunday as Katahdin defeated Orono-Veazie 5-1.

Kolby Gallagher hit two doubles for Katahdin, while teammate Cody Cunningham also hit a double.

Nic Cota singled twice for Orono-Veazie. Cota also pitched a six-hitter.

Katahdin took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then took control with a four-run rally in the bottom of the second.

Brewer 5, Hermon 2

Brendon Gendreau tossed a four-hitter, striking out 11, and Tyler White’s two-run single keyed a decisive four-run third inning rally Saturday.

Shawn Williams doubled and singled for Brewer and Joey Bartol singled twice.

Tyler Fournier doubled and singled for Hermon.

Holbrook 3, Millinocket 2

Mike Deschaine drew a bases-loaded walk to plate Dan Adams with the go-ahead run in the fifth inning and propel Holbrook to victory Saturday.

Tom Schultz and Ray Bessette each had two hits for the winners, while Devin Pulkinen doubled and singled and Aaron Cyr tripled for Millinocket.

Bessette earned the pitching win with 11 strikeouts. Cyr struck out 12 for Millinocket.

Orono-Veazie 15, Lincoln 5

Nick Peterson fired a five-hitter Saturday, striking out 11, and Josh Storgaard paced the offense with a double and two singles.

Drew Knights had two singles for Lincoln.
