Hall blanks Central Maine, Montville sweeps

BELFAST – Nate Hall fired a three-hit shutout, striking out 13 and not walking anybody, as Montville beat Central Maine Cleaning 2-0 to cap a sweep of a Bay League doubleheader Saturday.

Montville won the opener 7-4.

In the first game, Ben Relyea hit a double and two singles for Montville. George Tripp added a pair of singles and Gerald Hews had a RBI double.

Randy Renaud doubled for Central Maine Cleaning and Andy Sullivan hit a two-run single in the fourth inning.

In the second game, Devin Potvin had Montville’s only hit with a single in the second inning. Gary Gale scored on a double steal.

Renaud and Andy Sullivan teamed up on a one-hitter for Central Maine.

Jamie Campbell, Abram Allard, and Andy Sullivan each singled for Central Maine Cleaning.

Blue Hill, Schoodic split

At East Sullivan, Jeff Gordon gave up only five hits and no earned runs while striking out seven to lead Schoodic to the 5-1 win in the second game Sunday. Blue Hill took the first game 11-5.

In the first game, Toby Cole hit three singles and drove in two runs for Blue Hill and Nate Cox had two singles with a RBI.

Nick Putnam had a pair of singles for Schoodic.

In the second game, Ben Huber doubled and singled with an RBI for Schoodic and Gordon singled.

Toby Cole and Jake Lowell each had two singles for Blue Hill.

Quirk Auto sweeps Bear Brew

At Old Town, Jason Folsom hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning and scored three runs to lead Quirk Auto Park to the 10-2 win in the second game. Quirk won the first game 13-1.

In the first game, Aaron Tremble hit two singles and scored two runs for Quirk and Aaron Largay had a pair of singles and scored a run.

Sean Tidwell singled and stole two bases for the Bear Brew Pub.

In the second game, Joel Barrett doubled and singled and scored three runs for Quirk Auto Park.

Tucker Delong and Charlie Worster each had a single for Bear Brew Pub.
