Neff, Red Sox fans need to stop whining
I was reading the article (BDN, June 21) by Andrew Neff and I had to chuckle. Will the fans of Red Sox Nation ever stop their whining? They whine about everything when it comes to the Yankees, a team that has won 26 World Championships.
Neff’s article is another example of more Red Sox whining. Most Sox fans boo Clemens every time he takes the mound at Fenway Park. Let’s not forget that Clemens didn’t leave the Sox, he was thrown off the team by a general manager who stated “he’s washed up.”
Sure, the Rocket had something to prove after that. Who wouldn’t? But to honor the team that tossed him aside as “used goods” would be offensive to the Rocket. Can you blame him?
Now, those same fans that boo him at the games are now whining some more because he doesn’t want to wear a Red Sox cap at the Hall of Fame. C’mon, Sox fans. Stop crying and whining and let it go. And if you want to cheer for a real winner, cheer on those Yanks. Sour grapes never tasted so good.
