PRESQUE ISLE – The Maine Potato Board will give a legislative tour of Maine’s potato industry July 16-18, during the annual Maine Potato Bloom Festival.

The Legislature’s Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee, as well as the natural resources, taxation and appropriations committees, was invited to take the tour.

Legislators will tour a variety of potato companies and farms, including McCain Foods in Easton, Aroostook Starch in Fort Fairfield and the University of Maine Aroostook Farm Research Facility.

The conclusion of the tour is the Industry Dinner, an annual event attended by hundreds of people with interest in the potato industry.
