BREWER – Andrew Patterson struck out six and walked no one through six innings to lead the Brewer Falcons to a 13-1 victory over the Trenton Acadians in American Legion baseball action Tuesday night. The Falcons backed Patterson with an 18-hit onslaught.

BREWER – Andrew Patterson struck out six and walked no one through six innings to lead the Brewer Falcons to a 13-1 victory over the Trenton Acadians in American Legion baseball action Tuesday night.

The Falcons backed Patterson with an 18-hit onslaught.

Kevin McAvoy led the Brewer attack with a two-run homer in the first, a solo homer in the fifth, and an RBI double. Jake Knight was 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI; Jason Harvey was 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, and two RBIs; and Zach Bouzan-Kaloustian had two singles and three RBIs.

Mark Clapp had a double and a single for Trenton. Chris Sargent scored him with a single.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Penquis’ James Gray outdueled the Comrades’ Josh Young, firing a one-hitter with five strikeouts to earn the win over Bangor Tuesday night.

Seth Strout scored on a Caleb Pelletier single in the third for the Navigators. Strout had doubled and stolen third.

Brian Hackett singled for Bangor’s lone hit. Young finished with eight strikeouts.

Houlton 6, Lincoln 3

At Houlton, Jordan Hill’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth proved to be the difference as last-place Houlton used a three-run inning to hold on for the win over first-place Lincoln.

Hill had two singles for the Shiretowners.

Singles by Scott Flannery and Nate Cousineau were the only hits by Lincoln.

At the Sumner High field in East Sullivan, Rick Lowell recorded three singles and scored the winning run in the top of the seventh to lift Central Maine Cleaning of Bangor to victory.

Kei Takahaski chipped in with two singles and an RBI for the winners.

Adam Meyer doubled and singled for Schoodic.
