New manager named at IP’s Bucksport mill

BUCKSPORT – International Paper Co. has named Dennis Castonguay as the new mill manager at the company’s Bucksport paper mill.

Castonguay replaces Fred Oettinger, who resigned his position last week to take another position outside of IP, according to company spokeswoman Kelly McFarlane.

Oettinger had been the manager at the mill for about seven years.

Castonguay has been with IP for about 27 years, joining the company at the Androscoggin mill. He has held posts at several IP facilities, including in Erie, Pa., and Lock Haven, Pa., which both closed in 2002.

Most recently, Castonguay has served as operations manager at the Bucksport mill.

McFarlane said the mill does not anticipate any change in the operations at the mill as a result of the management change.

The mill employs 900 people and makes lightweight coated paper used in many national magazines and catalogs.
