LEWISTON – Maine Public Broadcasting is seeking volunteers to fill three vacancies on its community advisory board.

The board’s purpose is to advise the board of trustees and staff, to review PBS and public radio programming goals and determine whether the programming meets the needs of the community.

Board members are chosen to serve because they reflect different aspects of the community. These aspects include age, geography, interests and cultural and ethnic groups. Members may serve only two consecutive four-year terms.

The board meets twice a year, generally once in Bangor and once in Lewiston.

Anyone interested in becoming a member should fill out an application, which can be downloaded at www.mpbc.org. You also can request a copy by calling Audience Services at (800) 884-1717.
