OLD TOWN – Three teenagers walked three miles Thursday night after the car they were riding in was involved in a rollover accident on Kirkland Road.
Old Town police Officer Seth Burnes said a 1986 Mazda pickup rolled over three to five times after going off the road at 10:40 p.m., about 11/2 miles from the intersection with Route 43.
Brandon Kahl, 18, of Orono was driving the truck. He and Megan Lenfest, 17, of Old Town, and Lindsay Lenfest, 18, of Milford walked three miles to Poplar Street where a passer-by picked them up and took them to the Irving gas station on Stillwater Avenue. They arrived there about 40 minutes after the accident.
Burnes said Lindsay Lenfest had a cut on her head, and all the teenagers complained of pain. All three were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center; Lindsay was still there Friday night.
