ORONO – The 17th National Veterans Golden Age Games is coming to Orono, Aug. 7-12. More than 500 military veterans from across the United States have registered to compete in this year’s events. The majority of the events will be held on the University of Maine campus in Orono.

The Games are co-sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and will be hosted by the Togus VA Medical Center and Regional Office.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to meet the needs of the visiting participants. Volunteers will be need to assist with registration, transportation, meals, data management, photography, equipment set-up, timing and scoring, and many other functions.
