PORTLAND – Justin Sherrod hit a fly ball off the right- field wall with the bases loaded and one out in the 10th inning to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 3-2 victory over the New Britain Rock Cats Monday night at Hadlock Field.

Portland (46-38) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Kevin Youkilis hit a double to drive in Tony Schrager. The Sea Dogs made it 2-0 in the fourth when Schrager drove in John McGowan, who had doubled earlier.

Portland scored in the 10th when Schrager doubled and was sacrificed to third base. The next two batters were intentionally walked before Sherrod delivered the winning hit.
