LOVELL – A Lovell man was free on bail Monday after his arrest over the weekend on two felony charges linked to the investigation of a death at a garage at his home.
David Davis, 41, was charged with aggravated trafficking in marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, authorities said.
Davis was arrested Saturday after agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency searched his mobile home and garage for clues to the death of his friend, 43-year-old Timothy Bressette of Lovell.
Bressette was found dead on a mattress in Davis’ garage, where state police also found marijuana and empty prescription bottles.
Investigators say it was unclear whether those drugs contributed to Bressette’s death. Methadone, which can be lethal if taken improperly or in excessive doses, also was found.
An autopsy was conducted, but officials said the official cause of death would not be determined until the results of a toxicology test are known.
