Offense keys Brewer win

BENEDICTA – Dylan Fitzpatrick, Matt Helfen, and Eric Stevens each hit a double to help lead Brewer to an 11-9 win over Katahdin Wednesday in a District 3 Little League all-star baseball game for ages 11-12.

Nick Risser singled for Brewer.

Josh Guiggey hit a three-run home run in the fifth for Katahdin. Jonathan Keyes had a two-run triple and Bronson Merry doubled.

Bangor West 10, Bangor East 5

At Bangor West, Cody McInnis and Nate Frazier had two hits and two RBIs apiece and Ryan Larochelle survived a 10-hit attack to collect the complete-game win as Bangor West eliminated Bangor East.

McInnis had a pair of doubles while Frazier singled twice. Nick Hurst chipped in with a pair of singles.

Chad Kelley had two singles and two RBIs for Bangor East and Jason Duff had two singles and an RBI.

At Holden, Matt Duplisea hit a triple and a pair of singles to help lead Holbrook to the win.

Ryan Moriarty had two singles with three RBIs for Holbrook and Nick Pooler had a two-run double. Kyle Senter doubled.

Charlie Osborn hit three singles for Millinocket and Jared McCreevy had a pair of singles.

Ellsworth 14, Machias 2

At Machias, Lauren Peer gave up only two runs on three hits and struck out eight to lead Machias past Ellsworth.

Taylor Trombley had three singles with a RBI for Ellsworth and Peer tripled and singled with two RBIs. Lilly Cooper hit a double and a single as Catherine Carter and Addie Jordan each had a pair of singles with a RBI.

Cassie Corbett hit a RBI single in the third inning for Machias as Bree Nicley and Nicole Nicley both had a single.

Calais 8, Bucksport 1

At Calais, Cal Shorey pitched a complete game no-hitter and striking out seven to lead Calais to the victory.

Shorey hit a pair of doubles with a single and two RBIs for Calais. Roman Hall had two singles with two RBIs and Jordan Leeman hit two singles with a RBI.

Acadians 7, Ellsworth 3

At Ellsworth, Calvin Tweedie turned in a clutch pitching performance, scattering five hits and 11 strikeouts, and he aided his own cause with a two-run single in the first inning.

Tweedie’s single keyed a three-run rally that erased a 2-0 deficit. A Max Timco single delivered a run in the third. Tweedie walked 11.

Pat Kelley and Brad Folmer had two singles and an RBI apiece for Ellsworth.

Sunrise 4, Coastal 3

At Blue Hill, Chris Weaver hit a RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning to drive in Blake Chase to give Sunrise the win.

Ken Ingalls doubled and singled with a RBI for Sunrise and Chase doubled. Josh Beal and Matt Boyle each hit a RBI single.

Nate Hines had a two-run double in the third inning for Coastal and Peter Dickinson doubled.

Lincoln 13, Hermon 2

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Jason Murchison doubled and singled to drive in three runs and lead Lincoln to the win.

Duncan Markie and Dylan Hanscom each hit a RBI double for Lincoln.

Billy Bart had two doubles and a single with two RBIs for Hermon.

Hampden 6, Old Town 1

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Jason Huntley pitched a complete game, giving up only one run and five hits while striking out 15, to lead Hampden past Old Town.

Ian Lee had two singles for Hampden and Chris Pease hit a two-run single in the fifth inning.

Cory Estes doubled and singled for Old Town.
