While opening up the July 7 issue of the Bangor Daily News, I pulled out an advertising supplement about Veazie’s 150th year. It had several well-written and informative articles about the town and some of the businesses that had taken up roots in the “unique” town.

Upon reading the insert I thought what a nice job they had done portraying the friendly little town that I am lucky enough to live in. After finishing the eight-page supplement, I continued to read the BDN and was shocked to see the big, bold headline on Page B3: From Police Files, “Man arrested in Veazie on OUI charge.”

What a tasteless way to end a wonderful article on Veazie. Thanks for a good article gone bad.
