ST. ALBANS – Peter Duncombe of St. Albans was hired by his hometown Board of Selectmen on Monday night to administer the town’s $300,000 Community Development Block Grant.
Duncombe runs Sebasticook Valley Home Inspections.
Town Manager Larry Post applauded the grants, which were awarded to St. Albans, Hartland and Palmyra separately.
A process is being developed that will allow residents to apply for money to repair or renovate their homes. Post said the idea is to address health and safety issues, not cosmetic improvements.
Post also said residents should be getting their notices soon from the town’s revaluation service, Hamlin Associates of Parkman.
The revaluation is almost done, said Post, and once the notices are sent, residents will have an opportunity to meet with the assessors and discuss their new valuation figures.
