Savage powers Bangor West

LINCOLN – Kyle Savage fired a complete-game five hitter with seven strikeouts to propel Bangor West to a 5-2 win over Lincoln Thursday in a District 3 Little League all-star game for ages 11-12.

Zane Gray doubled, singled and knocked in a run for the winners and Cody McInnis also doubled and singled.

Kasey Knight rapped a two-run double for Lincoln. Wayne Campbell knocked two singles, and Justin Pete notched a double and a single.

Holbrook 8, Old Town 3

At Holden, Coby Hutchins hit a pair of RBI singles as Holbrook prevailed.

Ryan Kearns socked an RBI single for Holbrook. Ryan Moriarty tripled, and Nick Pooler doubled.

Kirk Fronas knocked an RBI triple to lead Old Town. Nick Michaud added an RBI double, and Nick Michaud notched a double.

Calais 22, Ellsworth 12

At Calais, Hillary Hollingdale and Jackie Mingo each stroked two doubles for Calais in the win.

Rebecca Redding hit three singles for the winners and Tessa Claridge had two doubles and a single.

Ashley Smith notched two doubles and a single to lead Ellsworth and Paige Martin added two singles.

Machias 10, Sunrise 9

At Machias, Erica Reynolds stroked a two-run single as Machias nipped Sunrise.

Christina Ramsdell and Katie Ackley had an RBI single each for the winners and Kala Conley added a double.

Jessica Faulkingham knocked a three-run single for Sunrise.

At Bangor, Mickey Savage singled three times and drove in a run as Katahdin rolled.

Kolby Galloghen doubled, singled and knocked in four for the winners and Brandon Robinson stroked two doubles and plated a run.

Brandon Cyr and Daniel Gostia had a triple apiece for Old Town and Casey Estes singled and doubled.
