Portland’s Ian Crocker has been named to USA Swimming’s team for the FINA World Championships, which will be held July 20-27 in Barcelona, Spain.

Crocker, a Cheverus of Portland graduate whose American record in the 100-meter butterfly was recently surpassed by Michael Phelps, won the 100-yard butterfly at the 2003 NCAA Championships for the third consecutive year and earned a gold medal at the 2000 Olympics as a member of the 400-meter medley relay team.
