BANGOR – The Shriners and some top racing action will be featured at Bangor Raceway over the weekend.
The Anah Temple Shrine Parade will be held at the track on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. before the races.
During Sunday’s race card, two amateur driving championships will be held featuring top drivers in the northeast along with local favorite Bill Varney.
The Anah Temple Shrine Trot, with a purse of $3,500, is Sunday’s seventh race and the main feature as six of the fastest trotters in Maine will be competing.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation will also be honored during Sunday’s races with a special benefit.
Saturday’s race card, which begins at 1:30 p.m., will feature eight races comprised of some fast Maine and Canadian Maritime horses.
