DOVER-FOXCROFT – Joey Kane executed a suicide squeeze bunt in the sixth inning of the second game to score Seth Strout and give Penquis the lead en route to a 6-4 victory and twinbill sweep of Orono-Old Town in American Legion baseball action Saturday.
Penquis won the first game 10-4.
In the first game, James Gray hit two doubles and a single to knock in four runs for Penquis. Joey Kane had a pair of singles with a RBI and Seth Strout hit a RBI double.
Ryan Brown had two singles with two RBIs for Orono. Jeff Miller hit a RBI double and Andy Levesque had a pair of singles.
In the second game, Gray doubled and singled with four RBIs for Penquis. Joey Kane had two singles with a RBI and Seth Strout hit a two-run single.
Ryan Thibodeau hit a two-run home run for Orono. Bo Thomas had two singles with a RBI and Brad Goody doubled.

Bangor, Trenton split
At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Josh Young pitched a one-hitter in the first game with one earned run and four walks while striking out six to lead Bangor to the 5-2 win. Trenton took the second game 7-6.
In the first game, Brain Hackett hit a pair of singles with a RBI for the Comrades. Jessefa Murphy had a RBI double in the third inning and Bill Chapman had two singles.
Adam Cousins hit a RBI single in the first inning for the Acadians.
In the second game, Seth Mayo singled in Mark Clapp to score the eventual game-winning run in the seventh inning for Trenton.
Mayo had two singles with a RBI for the Acadains. Adam Cousins had a single with two RBIs and Nick Henry hit two singles.
Murphy had a pair of singles with two RBIs for Bangor and Brian Worster doubled and singled with a RBI.

Hampden, Post 47 split
At Houlton, Jordan Hill scored from third base on an infield error with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Post 47 of Houlton to a 4-3 victory over Hampden and a split of their twinbill.
Mike Brown’s RBI double highlighted a three-run uprising in the sixth inning of the first game as Hampden rallied for a 6-5 win.
In the opener, Post 47 raced out to a 5-1 lead through four innings, but Hampden scored twice in the fifth inning before mounting its game-winning rally in the sixth.
John Higgins tripled and singled for the Riverdogs, while Brown doubled and singled and Ian Lee singled twice.
Chris Parsons doubled and singled for Post 47, while Eric O’Connell singled twice.
An RBI single by Post 47’s Derek Dow in the bottom of the seventh inning drove home R.J. Gagnon with the tying run and sent the second game into extra innings.
Lee hit a 360-foot home run in the fourth inning for Hampden.
