CARIBOU – The Maine Alzheimer’s Association, in cooperation with the Aroostook Agency on Aging, will offer a free program on a practical approach for caregivers of Alzheimer’s disease patients from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center. Lunch will be served.

The agenda includes a presentation, “Dementia: A Psychologist’s Perspective,” with Martha McIntosh, psychologist with the Aroostook Mental Health Center, and an explanation of estate and long-term care planning with attorney Martha Grant. Sharon Berz, long-term care director with the Agency on Aging, will provide tips to relieve stress, and Lucie Arbuthnot of the Maine Alzheimer’s Association will address communication techniques, reminiscence therapy for home and eliminating difficult behavior.

There is no charge to attend, but preregistration is required. Call the Aroostook Agency on Aging at 764-3396 or (800) 439-1789 by Monday, July 28.
