SURRY – Voters at a special town meeting agreed on Monday to spend $10,000 for an architectural study of possible solutions to the town’s space problems at the town office and fire department.

Surry Administrative Assistant Jonathan Thomas said Tuesday that voters approved the expenditure in a 20-8 vote.

The town now will hire Woodward Architecture of Surry to conduct the study. The firm’s recommendations will be presented to voters at next year’s annual town meeting, Thomas said.
