We are summer residents of this tranquil part of northern Maine and really enjoy our time spent here. Imagine our surprise, upon checking the family plot in the cemetery, that someone had stolen the box of flowers I had placed there when we first arrived. It was the whole box, not just the flowers.
I mentioned this to a friend and she thought maybe someone needed the flowers more than we did. It still irritates me to think that people would go to a cemetery for their summer adornment. I just hope they enjoy the time and expense of someone else doing their summer gardening.
You hear of this type of thing going on in larger cities, but who would have thought that a small town like Ashland would have to put up with stunts like this?
