Man wanted on outstanding Conn. warrants arrested in Bangor

Bangor police apprehended a man wanted in Connecticut early Friday morning.

Officer Wade Betters said he stopped a truck on the lawn of Motel 6 on Outer Hammond Street at about 1 a.m. The truck had been reported driving erratically.

The driver handed Betters a Connecticut registration with the name Thomas Seymour of West Hartford, Conn.

Betters said he arrested Seymour on the charge of operating under the influence after he performed poorly on sobriety tests.

At Penobscot County Jail, Betters said, a guard brought him some other identification bearing the name “Richard Bolduc,” taken from the suspect while searching him, some with pictures of the man Betters had arrested.

Betters said the suspect initially denied he was Bolduc, claiming he just looked like him.

Betters decided to summon the man under the second name, under which he had outstanding warrants in Connecticut.

A truck and a passenger car collided Friday night in Hermon. The crash occurred at about 9 p.m. at the intersection of Wing and Fuller roads.

Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputy Peter Garland said a Toyota Paseo, which was lying on its side in the ditch, apparently had been moving west through the intersection on Wing Road when the Chevrolet pickup passed though the intersection northbound on Fuller Road, sending the car spinning.

Garland said the driver of the car was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center. Bystanders mentioned that the young man could not remember what happened. The driver of the pickup complained of pain but was up and about.

McDonald’s restaurant staff reported a man passed out in their drive-through Thursday night in Bangor.

Bangor police Officer Steve Jordan said employees at the Union Street location told him Nathan Richards, 23, started sweating profusely as he handed them his money at the window and then passed out. Jordan said Richards had a 14-year-old passenger.

Although there was no smell of alcohol on Richards, and he later gave a 0.00 percent reading on an Intoxilyzer test, Jordan said he showed other signs of intoxication.

Jordan said Richards also had a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of Xanax, a prescription drug that he said he bought on the street. Richards was arrested and summoned for operating under the influence, possession of scheduled drugs and operating after suspension.
