AUBURN – A West Paris teenager pleaded guilty Friday in Androscoggin County Superior Court to a manslaughter charge in the highway death of an Oxford Hills High School football star.

Joshua Mason was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that rolled over Aug. 5 last year in Mechanic Falls, killing Travis Van Durme, 18, who was in the passenger seat.

Deputy District Attorney Craig Turner declined to say what he would recommend for a sentence.

Manslaughter is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
