CHESTER – The Maine Department of Transportation will close the Penobscot River Bridge from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4.

The bridge is located on the North Chester Road, and inspectors will evaluate the condition of the structural steel in anticipation of a future project to repaint the bridge. Municipal officials will help post signs advising motorists of the closure. For more information, call 624-3004.
