PORTLAND – Representatives of the Boston Red Sox will be coming to Maine for a Maine Day rally at Monument Square in Portland from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 28. During the rally, the Red Sox will declare Sept. 14 as Maine Day at Fenway Park, while state officials will declare July 28 as Red Sox Day in Maine.

The rally will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with a performance by the Bellamy Jazz Band. The 2003 Portland Sea Dogs, Boston’s Class AA affiliate, will be on hand from noon to 1 p.m., signing autographs. The formal program, emceed by NESN’s Bob Rodgers, will begin at 12:45 p.m. Scheduled to attend from the Red Sox are team owner John Henry, president and CEO Larry Lucchino, vice chairman Les Otten, a Red Sox legend and Wally the Green Monster.
