Michael Dunn of Bangor has been named the Bangor YMCA’s new membership director and Sheila Coleman of Holden has been promoted to rehabilitation coordinator. Dunn holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maine and most recently was a field director for a U.S. Senate candidate and communications director for a state Senate office. Coleman, previously a part-time fitness instructor, will lead the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation fitness programs in the new Rehabilitation Center at the Bangor YMCA’s downtown facility. She has also worked at the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA and at the International Paper Corporate Fitness Center in Bucksport.
Mary E. Rogan-Gordon of Dedham, an assistant vice president with Bangor Savings Bank, has transferred from the Hogan Road branch in Bangor to the Brewer branch as branch manager. She has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, with emphasis on mortgage and consumer lending, as well as branch sales and operations.
Max L. Lynds of Littleton, vice president of human resources at F.A. Peabody Co. Insurance, was recently elected president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Maine. NAIFA is Maine’s largest association of professional, life, health and multiline insurance agents and financial advisors.
Jeffrey Rowe has been hired as executive director of the Maine Campground Owners Association. Rowe has held marketing and communications positions in the forest products, food and beverage service, and publishing industries. MECOA is a statewide trade association, with an office in Lewiston, that represents more than 70 percent of Maine’s private campground industry.
Wayne Maines has been named director of safety and environmental management at the University of Maine. He has served since 1992 as manager of health, safety and training at Schenectady International, Inc., a global chemical products manufacturer. An Air Force veteran, Maines has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and master’s and doctorate degrees from West Virginia University.
