OLD TOWN – Five Maine Forest Service rangers and 15 trained firefighters will travel to Montana to help fight a forest fire in that state. The Maine contingent will leave on a bus at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Maine Forest Service headquarters and fly out of Portland on Thursday.

Personnel from southern Maine will also help fight an 8,000-acre fire near the town of Hamilton, Mont., that was started by lightning on July 12. The Mainers could be out of state for up to two weeks.
