Gray edges Allard by inches for victory at Unity

UNITY – After a spin late in the race Saturday, J.R. Gray of Orrington managed to beat Glenburn’s Joe Allard to the finish by inches for his fourth Pro Four win of the season at Unity Raceway.

Paul Shorette of Winslow placed third, Rusty Ramsdell of Clinton took fourth, and Dixon Smith of Sidney finished fifth.

Dana Strout of Benton recorded his first win in the Maine State Lottery Pro Stock Division. He was followed, in order, by Randy Turner of Freedom, George Fernald of Benton, Matt Lee of Albion, and Scott Albee of Norridgewock.

At Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Rick Frenette of Waterboro led the field throughout the race and finished first in the Pro Series event on Saturday. He was followed by Steve Carrier of Saco and Bub Bilodeau of Standish.

Phil Baril Jr. of Haverhill, Mass., was fourth, followed by Jay Sands of Seabrook, N.H.
