Child care programs
The Bangor YMCA is registering children for its preschool, before-school and after-school programs.
The preschool program has openings for children 3 to 5 years old. Officials said the affordable, quality child care provides extended hours to work with parents’ schedules, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Children learn to swim, get physical activity in the gymnasium, prepare for kindergarten by developing skills and creativity, have fun, improve social skills, learn the YMCA character values and are served USDA-approved breakfasts, lunches and snacks.
The Bangor YMCA before- and after-school program is registering children in kindergarten through grade six.
The program covers the gaps between children’s school hours and parents’ work hours.
Children are bused daily to and from area schools and the Bangor YMCA.
Activities promote skills development, socialization and the YMCA values and include swimming, games in the gym, walks to area parks, learning centers and more.
CPR and first aid-certified teachers work with children. Vacancies fill quickly. For information, call Linda Ross, Child Care Services, at 941-2815 or visit www.bangorymca.org.
