I would like to thank the Bangor Daily News for the coverage of the welcome home given the returning servicemen at the airport. Political views should not matter. All should support the troops who have given so much.

I also would like to share what has taken place in the United Methodist Church in Mattawamkeag. The people decided to adopt a serviceman’s family while he was deployed. My son, Tim, who serves with the 112th AA from Bangor and lives in Levant, had his family chosen. The gifts of money and support his family has received have been a great help.

I serve as pastor to this church and had nothing to do with the idea. I know these people did this from their hearts. My wife, Bonnie, and I are privileged to be part of their church.
