ORLAND – Drivers who use the Upper Falls Road should allow additional travel time for the two-week period beginning Monday, Aug. 11, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.
The road at the Upper Falls Bridge, which crosses the Narramissic River about 1.75 miles north of Route 1, will be closed.
The DOT will replace four multiplate structures, which resemble large culverts, with new structures; realign the intersection of Soper and Upper Falls roads; and make guardrail improvements.
A two-week closure is scheduled, but it is hoped that the road will be reopened before then.
