UNION – The LifeFlight Foundation announced the election of its board of trustees and officers at its inaugural meeting Aug. 12.

Elected trustees are Dr. Krishna Bhatta, Skowhegan, Redington-Fairview General Hospital and president of Maine Medical Association; Dr. George L. Higgins III, Cape Elizabeth, associate vice president of Patient Improvement, Maine Medical Center; Thomas P. Judge, CCT-Paramedic, Port Clyde, executive director of LifeFlight of Maine; Noel C. March, Old Town, director of University of Maine Public Safety; John C. May, Pittsfield, president and CEO at Sebasticook Valley Hospital; Kristine D. Young, Vinalhaven, music teacher at North Haven Community School; and William W. Young, Auburn, retired CEO at Central Maine Healthcare.

Elected officers are John C. May, president; Krishna Bhatta, treasurer; and C.P. Williamson Jr. of Warren, secretary-clerk.

The LifeFlight Foundation, which opened its doors in Union’s Thompson Community Building this year, was established to support LifeFlight of Maine. As the state’s only licensed Scene Response Air Ambulance, its two helicopters are on call 24 hours a day year round from bases in Bangor and Lewiston.
