The U.S. economy is in decline, people are being laid off from their jobs, millions are out of work and our jobs are flying overseas.

Recently, there was a vote in Congress to provide unlimited visas for high-tech workers from Chile and Singapore. Prior to the vote, I called all three offices of our congressmen and got the impression they were all against this diabolic legislation. How did they vote? Mike Michaud voted against it. However, I was shocked to learn that both of our senators voted for it. The legislation passed. Already, someone in Washington is proposing similar legislation for more countries.

I asked the senators to please tell me why they voted as they did. I heard from Sen. Collins, but the issue of the visas was ignored. I have not heard from Sen. Snowe.

Are there citizens besides me who are concerned? It frequently takes only 5 percent of the populace speaking up to effect a change.
